Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 oz) jar salsa (mild, medium, or hot, to taste)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F.
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the ground beef and cook until browned with no pink remaining.
    • Drain excess fat, then mix in the taco seasoning. Stir well to combine.
  • Layer the Dip:
    • In a pie dish or similar baking dish, spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the bottom.
    • Pour the salsa over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
    • Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the salsa layer.
    • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake the Dip:
    • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
    • Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spice level of the dip by selecting mild, medium, or hot salsa based on your preference.
  • For an extra cheesy dip, sprinkle more cheddar cheese on top before baking.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
