Description

These Air Fryer Mushroom and Chestnut Stuffing Balls are crispy on the outside, tender and savory on the inside. Packed with earthy mushrooms, sweet chestnuts, and fragrant herbs, they’re a perfect vegetarian appetizer or festive side dish.

Ingredients

  • Chestnuts: 1 cup, roasted and chopped
  • Mushrooms: 1 1/2 cups, finely chopped
  • Onion: 1 small, finely diced
  • Garlic Cloves: 2, minced
  • Fresh Rosemary: 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Fresh Thyme: 1 teaspoon, leaves only
  • Breadcrumbs: 3/4 cup
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable Stock: 1/4 cup
  • Soy Sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • Ground Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, then add garlic, mushrooms, rosemary, and thyme. Cook until mushrooms release moisture and reduce, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chestnuts, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, vegetable stock, salt, and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  4. Shape mixture into small balls.
  5. Place balls in the air fryer basket, lightly spray with oil, and cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  6. Garnish with flaky salt and rosemary. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Cool the mixture before shaping to help them hold together.
  • Mist with oil before air frying for extra crispiness.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated easily.
