Description

Creamy oven baked feta topped with blistered grapes, tangy sumac, and fresh thyme. This sweet and savory Mediterranean inspired appetizer is warm, spreadable, and perfect for serving with crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block feta cheese
  • 2 cups red seedless grapes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground sumac
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the red grapes with olive oil, ground sumac, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Place the block of feta in the center of a small baking dish.
  4. Arrange the seasoned grapes around and slightly over the feta, then sprinkle fresh thyme leaves on top.
  5. Drizzle any remaining olive oil from the bowl over the feta and grapes.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the feta is softened and lightly golden at the edges and the grapes are blistered.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm with crusty bread.

Notes

  • Use a good quality block feta for the best creamy texture.
  • Do not over bake to prevent the feta from becoming dry.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and gently reheated.
