Description

These Baked Honey BBQ Chicken Bites are tender, juicy, and coated in a sticky-sweet BBQ glaze with just the right touch of smokiness. They’re oven-baked to perfection for a healthier spin on classic finger food — perfect for parties, weeknight dinners, or game day snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. In three separate bowls, place flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and panko mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in the third.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in flour, then dip in egg, then press into the panko mixture until fully coated. Arrange on prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over low heat, combine BBQ sauce and honey. Stir until warmed and smooth.
  6. Once chicken is done, toss the bites in the warm honey BBQ sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped chives or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use a wire rack on the baking sheet for extra crispiness.
  • For spicier bites, add a dash of cayenne or hot sauce to the BBQ mixture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to maintain crisp texture.
