  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

For the Glaze (Optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Prepare Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
    • Add eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas. Stir until fully combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Mix the Batter:
    • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
    • If using, fold in the chopped walnuts.
  • Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
    • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Prepare the Glaze:
    • While the brownies cool, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Glaze and Serve:
    • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a chocolatey twist, fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the batter.
