Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls combine the soft texture of banana bread with the sweet swirls of cinnamon sugar, topped with a luscious cream cheese glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk and mix with yeast; let sit until foamy.
  2. Combine mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and salt to form a dough.
  3. Knead for 5-7 minutes, then let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll up tightly, cut into slices, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  7. For glaze, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for more flavor.
  • Add chopped nuts for a crunchy twist.
  • Best served warm.
