Ingredients

Scale

For the Rolls:

  • 2 cups Bisquick mix
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 egg

For the Filling:

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of Bisquick mix, ½ cup of milk, ¼ cup of melted butter, ¼ cup of sugar, and 1 egg. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll Out the Dough:
    • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
  • Add the Filling:
    • Spread ¼ cup of melted butter evenly over the rolled-out dough.
    • In a small bowl, mix ½ cup of brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  • Roll and Slice:
    • Carefully roll the dough into a log, starting from the long side. Pinch the edges to seal.
    • Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Prepare the Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Glaze the Rolls:
    • Once the cinnamon rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the prepared glaze over the warm rolls.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, sprinkle some chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) on top before baking.
  • You can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it, then bake the rolls fresh in the morning.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can add more powdered sugar or reduce the milk.
