Description

Soft, buttery breadsticks baked to golden perfection and topped with garlic and Parmesan. These homemade breadsticks are perfect for dipping, sharing, or pairing with pasta and soups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir to form a dough.
  4. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 30 to 40 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into 12 pieces and roll each into a rope 6 to 8 inches long. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Parmesan while still warm.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for best results.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area.
  • Add herbs or cheese inside the dough for variations.
