Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or spray a loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Set the bowl aside.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and fluffy.
Spoon or pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the bread on a wire rack. Once cooled, remove from the pan, slice, and serve.
Notes
If you like a cheesier bread, add more shredded cheddar on top before baking.
You can also use other cheese varieties, like mozzarella or Monterey Jack, for a different flavor.
Serve with a little butter on top for extra richness.
