Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or spray a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Set the bowl aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and fluffy.
- Spoon or pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack. Once cooled, remove from the pan, slice, and serve.
Notes
- If you like a cheesier bread, add more shredded cheddar on top before baking.
- You can also use other cheese varieties, like mozzarella or Monterey Jack, for a different flavor.
- Serve with a little butter on top for extra richness.
