Description
Cheeseburger Lava Cake is the ultimate comfort food mashup — juicy seasoned beef and molten cheddar cheese wrapped in soft, golden dough. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and packed with burger flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 package pizza dough or crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease and stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Let cool slightly.
- Roll out the dough and cut into 4–6 equal rounds. Flatten into circles.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each dough circle. Press a cube of cheddar into the center.
- Fold dough around the filling and pinch edges to seal. Place seam-side down on the baking tray.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds if using.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use cold cheese cubes to help retain the lava effect during baking.
- Don’t overfill or the cheese may leak out.
- Parchment paper helps prevent sticking and eases cleanup.
- Add bacon bits, jalapeños, or pickles for fun variations.
