Description

A quick and comforting one-skillet meal that combines all the flavors of a cheeseburger — seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, tangy pickles, and fluffy rice — into a warm and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 cup chopped pickles
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil or butter.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Stir in ketchup, mustard, and chopped pickles. Mix well.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Add cooked rice and stir until evenly combined and heated through.
  6. Finishing Touches: Turn off heat, sprinkle cheese over the top, and gently mix once melted.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use cold, day-old rice for the best texture.
  • Customize with your favorite burger toppings like jalapeños or tomato.
  • Add a drizzle of burger sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor.
