Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large pizza dough rounds (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1/2 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Assemble the Calzones:
Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into two equal rounds.
Place half of the chicken Alfredo mixture in the center of each dough round.
Carefully fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, pressing the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for extra security.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Air Fry the Calzones:
Brush the tops of the calzones with olive oil to help them crisp up during cooking.
Place the calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Serve:
Remove the calzones from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and serve with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought rotisserie chicken for a faster preparation.
  • Add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers to the filling for more flavor.
  • If you prefer a crispier calzone, you can air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Make it gluten-free by using gluten-free pizza dough.
