Description

A rich and moist chocolate mayonnaise cake with deep chocolate flavor and a soft tender crumb.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, water, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into pan.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely and spread chocolate frosting on top.

Notes

  • Use full fat mayonnaise for best texture
  • Do not overmix batter
