A rich and moist chocolate mayonnaise cake with deep chocolate flavor and a soft tender crumb.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, water, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour batter into pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely and spread chocolate frosting on top.
Notes
- Use full fat mayonnaise for best texture
- Do not overmix batter
- Cool before frosting
