Ingredients

Scale

For the crust:

  • 1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the dark chocolate mousse:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the milk chocolate mousse:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 200g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the white chocolate mousse:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 200g white chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For garnish:

  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the chocolate cake base: Combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and water. Stir until smooth. Pour into a greased round cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
  • Make the mousse:
    • Dark chocolate mousse: Melt semi-sweet chocolate and heavy cream over a double boiler. Stir until smooth. Let cool slightly.
    • Whip the cream: Whip remaining heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the melted chocolate mixture.
  • Assemble the cake: Spread mousse over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  • Serve and enjoy: Slice and serve chilled with garnishes like whipped cream, berries, or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Let the cake cool completely before adding the mousse.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Refrigerate the cake long enough to allow the mousse to set.
