This Classic Chicken Salad is a creamy, flavorful dish made with tender shredded chicken, mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, and a hint of Dijon mustard. It’s perfect for sandwiches, crackers, or as a light meal on its own. Add in some nuts for a bit of crunch or customize with fruit for a refreshing twist!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, chopped celery, chopped onion, fresh dill, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix well: Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chicken salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Serve: Serve the chicken salad on its own, on bread or crackers, or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken, leftover cooked chicken, or grilled chicken for convenience.
  • Add optional ingredients like grapes, chopped apples, or chopped hard-boiled eggs for extra flavor and texture.
