Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 1/2 cup stir fry sauce
  • 1/4 cup sesame ginger dressing
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into small pieces

For the Coleslaw:

  • 1 cup thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons sesame ginger dressing

For the Wonton Taco Shells:

  • 10 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Garnish/Serving:

  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  • Chicken Marinade:
In a bowl, combine chicken pieces with stir fry sauce, sesame ginger dressing, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Prepare the Wonton Taco Shells:
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil to at least 2 inches deep over medium-high heat (350°F or 175°C). Gently fold each wonton wrapper into a triangle shape, leaving the edges unsealed. Fry the wontons until crispy and golden brown, flipping halfway through cooking. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Repeat with the remaining wontons.
  • Prepare the Coleslaw:
In a bowl, combine thinly sliced cabbage, shredded carrots, and sesame ginger dressing. Mix thoroughly, then cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Cook the Chicken:
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until fully cooked through and caramelized with the marinade, forming a savory glaze.
  • Assemble the Tacos:
Place 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of the cooked chicken into each wonton shell. Top with the coleslaw mixture. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chicken and coleslaw based on your desired taco filling.
  • For extra flavor, drizzle a little extra sesame ginger dressing over the tacos before serving.
