- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- In one bowl combine flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Whisk eggs in a separate bowl.
- Dip chicken pieces into eggs then coat in the flour mixture.
- Fry chicken in batches for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- In another pan combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, and ketchup.
- Simmer gently and stir in the cornstarch slurry until thickened.
- Toss crispy chicken in the sauce until coated evenly.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
