Ingredients
Scale
1 can (8 rolls) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
1/4 cup strawberry jelly
All-purpose flour (for dusting)
Optional: Pink or red food coloring (to tint the icing)
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Shape the Cinnamon Rolls:
Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Unroll each piece into a strip.
Flatten the strips slightly and fold each one into a V-shape to resemble the bottom point of a heart.
Shape the ends of the V into the top curves of a heart. Gently pinch and adjust to perfect the heart shape.
Secure the Heart Shape:
Place the heart-shaped rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
Flatten the base of the heart slightly to create a small well for the filling.
Partial Baking:
Bake the shaped cinnamon rolls for 5 minutes. This allows them to firm up slightly, creating a base for the jelly.
Add Jelly Filling:
Remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven. Carefully spoon a small amount of strawberry jelly into the center of each heart and spread it evenly.
Bake to Perfection:
Return the rolls to the oven and bake for an additional 6–8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Prepare the Icing:
If desired, tint the included icing with a drop or two of pink or red food coloring for a festive touch.
Drizzle and Serve:
Once baked, drizzle the icing across the finished hearts. Serve warm and enjoy the adorable Valentine’s treat!
Notes
Be sure to keep an eye on the rolls during the second baking step to avoid over-baking.
You can also substitute the strawberry jelly with raspberry or even a chocolate spread for a twist.
