Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a deep 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, sausage, and diced onion until browned. Drain grease.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain well.
  5. Layer pasta in baking dish, top with meat sauce and mozzarella. Repeat if needed. Finish with parmesan and pepperoni slices on top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
