- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add warm milk, remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir to combine.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 15 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13 pan.
- Cover loosely and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush tops with melted butter and serve warm.
