Description

A bold and flavorful Southern-inspired dish, Dirty Rice with Ground Beef combines savory ground beef, rice, and aromatic vegetables, all seasoned with spicy Cajun flair. Perfect for a hearty meal or side.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups cooked white rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Push the beef to one side and add onion, bell peppers, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  4. Stir everything together and season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the cooked rice and mix well to combine. Add a splash of chicken broth if desired.
  6. Cook for 3–4 minutes until heated through and flavors meld.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning, then serve hot with optional garnishes.

Notes

  • Use day-old rice for best texture and flavor absorption.
  • Customize the spice level by adjusting Cajun seasoning.
  • Great for meal prep and reheats well for up to 4 days.
