Dubai Chocolate Strawberries combine layers of crispy kataifi pastry, rich pistachio butter, sweet strawberries, and silky chocolate for an indulgent, elegant dessert cup inspired by Middle Eastern flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces kataifi shredded dough, chopped
  • 1 cup pistachio butter or pistachio cream
  • 2 tablespoons tahini (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds strawberries, halved
  • Ground pistachios, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the kataifi and cook, stirring constantly, until browned and crispy, about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the pistachio butter and tahini. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  2. Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add 8 strawberry halves to the bottom of each of 4 clear 12-ounce cups. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate to fill the gaps between the strawberries. Add about 3 tablespoons of the kataifi filling on top.
  4. Repeat another layer of strawberry halves close to the top of each cup, followed by more kataifi filling, a drizzle of melted chocolate, and a sprinkle of ground pistachios.
  5. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before serving.

Notes

  • Tahini is optional but adds extra creaminess and flavor.
  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for best results.
  • Kataifi can be found in Middle Eastern grocery stores or specialty shops.
  • Can be prepared ahead and chilled until serving.
