Description

Dutch Honey, also known as Vanilla Butter Syrup, is a sweet, rich, and velvety syrup that’s perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream. With a hint of vanilla and buttery richness, it elevates any breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the brown sugar and whisk to combine. Continue to cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking constantly to prevent curdling. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  • Allow the syrup to cool slightly before serving. It will thicken more as it cools.
  • Drizzle over your favorite pancakes, waffles, or desserts and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a thinner syrup, you can add a little more cream or milk to adjust the consistency.
