- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Cooked white rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, beef broth, and garlic. Set aside.
- Sear sliced beef in the hot pan for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil and broccoli to the pan. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir everything to coat evenly.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
- Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

- Slice beef thinly for tender bites.
- Use fresh broccoli for best texture, but frozen works too.
- Marinate beef ahead for even deeper flavor.
