Description

This Easy Beef And Broccoli is a quick, delicious stir-fry dish packed with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory-sweet garlic sauce. It’s better than takeout and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Cooked white rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, beef broth, and garlic. Set aside.
  3. Sear sliced beef in the hot pan for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil and broccoli to the pan. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir everything to coat evenly.
  6. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  7. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly for tender bites.
  • Use fresh broccoli for best texture, but frozen works too.
  • Marinate beef ahead for even deeper flavor.
