Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 3 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 2 cups coconut flakes
  • 4 tsp cinnamon (to taste)
  • 1½ cups corn syrup
  • Oil for frying
  • Chocolate topping
  • Caramel topping
  • Whipped cream
  • Cherries

Instructions

  1. Scoop medium-sized balls of ice cream and place them on a tray. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  2. Mix crushed cornflakes, coconut flakes, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Roll frozen ice cream balls in the mixture, then freeze overnight.
  4. Coat the balls with corn syrup, roll in the remaining mixture, and freeze for another hour.
  5. Heat oil in a pot or deep fryer to 400°F.
  6. Fry each coated ball for 30–45 seconds until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil, drain, and top with caramel, chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough to crisp the coating quickly.
  • Double-coating helps keep the ice cream insulated.
  • Serve right after frying to enjoy the contrast of hot and cold.
  • Experiment with different ice cream flavors and toppings.
