Description

These Garlic-Brown Sugar Chicken Thighs are crispy, juicy, and glazed in a sweet-savory sauce packed with garlic and soy. A perfect weeknight dinner made in one pan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 45 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken skin-side down for 6–8 minutes until golden, flip and cook another 4 minutes.
  4. Mix garlic, brown sugar, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
  5. Pour sauce over chicken, reduce heat to low, and simmer 5–7 minutes, spooning sauce over to glaze.
  6. Let rest a few minutes before serving. Spoon extra sauce from the pan over the top.

Notes

  • Let the skin sear undisturbed for best crispness.
  • Don’t cook on high after adding sugar—simmer gently to avoid burning.
  • Double the sauce for extra drizzling.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes or ginger for heat and depth.
