Ingredients
Scale
- 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken skin-side down for 6–8 minutes until golden, flip and cook another 4 minutes.
- Mix garlic, brown sugar, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
- Pour sauce over chicken, reduce heat to low, and simmer 5–7 minutes, spooning sauce over to glaze.
- Let rest a few minutes before serving. Spoon extra sauce from the pan over the top.
Notes
- Let the skin sear undisturbed for best crispness.
- Don’t cook on high after adding sugar—simmer gently to avoid burning.
- Double the sauce for extra drizzling.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes or ginger for heat and depth.
