Description

Grilled Parmesan Garlic Oysters are a smoky, buttery, and cheesy seafood appetizer. Fresh oysters are grilled in their shells with garlic butter and Parmesan for an indulgent yet easy dish that tastes like seaside dining at home.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Oysters: 12 on the half shell
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), melted
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
  • Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt: Pinch
  • Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon Wedges: For serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat grill to medium-high (around 400°F).
  2. Make Garlic Butter: Mix melted butter, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Prepare Oysters: Shuck oysters, leaving them in their half shells with liquor intact.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Place oysters on grill-safe tray or directly on grill. Spoon garlic butter over each and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Grill for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from grill, drizzle with lemon juice, and garnish with parsley.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with lemon wedges and bread or crackers.

Notes

  • Chill oysters before shucking for easier handling.
  • Do not overcook—oysters become rubbery if left too long.
  • Add breadcrumbs for a crunchy topping if desired.
  • Serve on a bed of rock salt or ice for presentation.
