Description

A warm, comforting drink with anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for relaxation and wellness. Made with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper, it’s a nourishing and soothing beverage for any time of the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (your choice: almond, oat, coconut, or dairy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1-inch fresh turmeric, grated)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder (or 1/2-inch fresh ginger, grated)
  • 1 pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee (optional, for creaminess)

Instructions

  • Warm the Milk: In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk gently, but don’t let it boil.
  • Mix in Spices: Add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper to the milk. Stir well to combine.
  • Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. Stir occasionally.
  • Sweeten and Enrich (Optional): Stir in honey or maple syrup for sweetness and coconut oil or ghee for added creaminess and health benefits.
  • Strain (If Using Fresh Spices): Pour the golden milk through a fine mesh strainer into your favorite mug to remove any bits of fresh turmeric or ginger.
  • Serve Warm: Enjoy your golden milk while it’s warm and comforting.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste, adding more turmeric or cinnamon for stronger flavor.
  • This drink can be made vegan by using non-dairy milk and leaving out the ghee.
  • For an extra touch of sweetness, you can also add a pinch of vanilla extract.
