Description

These adorable Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day! With a soft and chewy texture and mini chocolate chips in every bite, these cookies are a festive and fun way to celebrate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ cups mini chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
    • In a separate large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    • Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  • Shape the Cookies:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
    • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
    • Place them on a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Add Sprinkles & Bake:
    • Sprinkle festive sprinkles over the cookies before baking.
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown.
    • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a heart-shaped cutter, you can use any shape or simply make round cookies.
  • For extra fun, drizzle some melted chocolate over the cooled cookies.
