These homemade peppermint patties are a delightful treat, combining the cool, refreshing flavor of peppermint with smooth, rich chocolate. Perfect for the holidays, gift-giving, or simply satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 pound chocolate almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Prep the Tray:
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set it aside. Clear space in your freezer for the tray.
  • Mix the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract.
Slowly mix in the confectioners’ sugar using an electric mixer until a stiff, non-sticky dough forms.
  • Shape the Patties:
Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the tray. Gently flatten each ball into a thick disc shape. Freeze for 1 hour to firm them up.
  • Melt the Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and completely melted.
  • Dip and Decorate:
Dip each chilled patty into the melted chocolate, shaking off the excess chocolate. Place the coated patties back on the lined tray. Add sprinkles, if desired, for extra decoration.
  • Set and Serve:
Let the chocolate fully set at room temperature or speed up the process by placing the tray in the refrigerator.
Once set, store the peppermint patties in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.

Notes

  • You can make these patties ahead of time and store them for up to 1-2 weeks.
  • For an extra twist, you could sprinkle crushed peppermint candy on top of the chocolate for added crunch and flavor.
