- 1 cup raisins
- 1 and 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
- Make a well in the center and add the egg, raisins, and pour in the buttermilk.
- Mix with your hands or a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds.

- Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf.
