Spicy, savory, and loaded with Southern charm, these Jambalaya Cajun Shrimp Bites are packed with shrimp, sausage, rice, and bold Cajun flavors—perfect for entertaining or snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g Medium Shrimp, peeled, deveined, finely chopped
  • 100g Smoked Sausage, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • 1/2 cup Bell Pepper, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onion, chopped (optional)
  • 12 Mini Tart Shells or Crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking tart shells or warming bites.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and bell pepper for 3 minutes. Add garlic, shrimp, and sausage. Cook until shrimp is opaque.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: If baking, grease mini muffin tin. If serving on crackers, place them on a platter.
  4. Assemble the Dish: In a bowl, combine skillet mixture with rice, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Spoon into shells or onto crackers.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Bake filled shells for 10 minutes or skip if using ready bases.
  6. Finishing Touches: Top with green onion or a dash of hot sauce.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use day-old rice for best texture.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp—just until pink and curled.
  • Chill the mix slightly before filling to help it bind.
