Ingredients
Scale
3 tablespoon olive oil or pork lard
2 yellow onions, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon chili flakes (adjust for heat)
2 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
2 tablespoon tomato paste
10 oz ground beef (300g)
10 oz ground pork (300g)
3 cups tomato sauce
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water
8 oz lasagna sheets, broken into pieces
1 cup shredded mozzarella (measure with your heart)
Ricotta cheese and fresh basil for serving (optional)
Chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
In a large pot, heat olive oil or lard over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing for about 5 minutes until onions are soft and translucent.
Stir in garlic powder, oregano, chili flakes, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add tomato paste, mix well, and cook for another minute.
Add ground beef and pork, breaking them up as they cook. Sauté until browned, about 5 more minutes.
Pour in tomato sauce, heavy cream, chicken broth, and water. Stir well, making sure everything is combined. Add 1 teaspoon sugar.
Once the soup starts to simmer, add broken lasagna sheets. Stir occasionally and cook uncovered for 20-30 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
Remove from heat and stir in shredded mozzarella until melted. Add chopped parsley if desired and mix well.
Ladle soup into bowls. Top each with a dollop of ricotta cheese and fresh basil if desired. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Adjust chili flakes to control the heat.
For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken.
Add spinach or other greens at the end for extra nutrition.
Great for meal prep—flavors develop even more after a day in the fridge.
