Description

A genius mashup of lasagna and grilled cheese, this Lasandwich is stacked with pasta, cheesy layers, rich tomato sauce, and toasted bread for the ultimate comfort bite.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices Italian bread or sourdough
  • 4 cooked lasagna sheets
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat skillet or panini press to medium heat.
  2. If using fresh ingredients, layer two lasagna sheets with tomato sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, and seasoning. Top with remaining lasagna sheets.
  3. Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil or butter.
  4. Place lasagna layers between two bread slices, oiled side out.
  5. Grill in skillet or press for 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Let sandwich rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice and serve warm with extra sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Use slightly chilled lasagna layers for easier stacking.
  • Don’t overfill the sandwich to prevent mess.
  • Use sturdy bread to hold the filling together.
