- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- 250g (9 oz) fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Place mozzarella slices between two slices of bread to make a sandwich. Press edges gently to seal.
- In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs with milk, salt, and pepper.
- Lightly flour the outside of each sandwich on both sides.
- Dip the floured sandwiches into the egg mixture, making sure they are well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
