Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  • Make the Batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  • Cook the Pancakes: Heat a lightly oiled griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake onto the hot surface. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
  • Serve: Serve warm with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fresh berries, or a pat of butter.

Notes

  • Tip: To keep pancakes warm while cooking in batches, place them on a baking sheet in a 200°F (93°C) oven until all pancakes are ready.
  • Customize: Add chocolate chips, bananas, or blueberries to the batter for extra flavor and texture.
