This flavorful olive oil dip, made with a blend of aromatic herbs, garlic, and Parmesan, pairs perfectly with slices of warm, crusty bread. It’s a simple yet delicious appetizer or side dish that’s ready in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Freshly baked crusty bread, sliced

Instructions

  • Combine Herbs and Spices: In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, dried basil, oregano, rosemary, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and kosher salt.
  • Add Olive Oil and Cheese: Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the herb mixture and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until everything is well combined.
  • Optional Balsamic Addition: For an added layer of flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar.
  • Serve: Transfer the dip to a shallow serving dish and serve immediately with slices of warm, crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • This dip can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Let it come to room temperature before serving.
