- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chopped pecans.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. Sprinkle extra pecans on top if desired.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
