This homemade version of Pizza Hut’s famous pizza dough brings the pizzeria experience right to your kitchen! Soft, chewy, and perfectly stretchy, it’s the ideal base for your favorite pizza toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for greasing)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Lightly grease a clean bowl with a little olive oil, place the dough in the bowl, and cover it with a damp towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles.
  • Divide the dough into 2 equal portions for two pizzas or keep it whole for a large pizza.
  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Add your favorite toppings to the pizza and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy your homemade Pizza Hut-style pizza!

Notes

  • For a thicker crust, allow the dough to rise a bit longer after shaping it.
  • You can freeze the dough after it rises by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and storing it in a freezer-safe bag. Thaw in the fridge overnight before using.
  • Adjust the amount of flour depending on the humidity and texture of your dough. It should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
