Description

Soft pretzel dough wrapped around savory hot dogs, baked to golden perfection and topped with coarse salt.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet.
  2. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar, then let sit briefly.
  3. Add flour, salt, and butter, and knead into a dough.
  4. Let dough rise until soft and doubled.
  5. Divide dough and wrap around each hot dog.
  6. Dip each in a baking soda bath.
  7. Place on baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle salt.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
  9. Serve warm.
