Description

Rice Pudding is a creamy, comforting dessert made with rice, milk, sugar, and warm spices. Perfect served warm or chilled, it’s a timeless treat loved around the world.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup white rice, uncooked
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup raisins (optional)
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Place a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add rice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce heat and cook for 25–30 minutes, stirring often, until rice is tender and pudding thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and raisins if using.
  6. Sprinkle with nutmeg and extra cinnamon.
  7. Serve warm or refrigerate for a chilled version.

Notes

  • Use short-grain rice for a creamier texture.
  • If pudding thickens too much, stir in a splash of milk before serving.
  • Top with fresh fruit, nuts, or honey for extra flavor.
