Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups dry macaroni
  • 6 oz. claw crab meat
  • 8 oz. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 8 oz. block sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz. block mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • Salt, black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and devein shrimp if needed.
  • Cook macaroni according to package directions and drain well.
  • Place drained macaroni in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add sour cream and stir well to coat the noodles.
  • Add crab meat and stir to combine.
  • Finely chop the spring onion and set aside.
  • Grate the sharp white cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, then set aside.
  • Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add shrimp and cook, turning until lightly done. Remove shrimp from pan and chop slightly once cooled. Add shrimp to the macaroni mixture.
  • Add the chopped onions to the saucepan and sauté until tender.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and stir well, cooking for about 1 minute.
  • Slowly add evaporated milk, stirring constantly until the mixture begins to thicken.
  • Gradually add grated cheddar cheese, stirring until it melts.
  • Pour the cheese mixture over the macaroni and seafood mixture. Stir well to combine and season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to a well-buttered baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with grated mozzarella cheese and top with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Lightly sprinkle with paprika for color.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute the claw crab meat with lump crab meat for a richer flavor.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the cheese sauce.
  • The seafood mixture can be adjusted according to preference; feel free to add more shrimp or crab.
