Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Make the Garlic Bread:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
    • Brush both sides of the baguette slices with the garlic butter mixture.
    • Place the slices on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add shrimp and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.
  • Make the Scampi Sauce:
    • Add white wine to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
    • Stir in heavy cream, butter, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
    • Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve:
    • Serve the shrimp and sauce over rice or pasta.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with the garlic bread.

Notes

  • You can use any type of shrimp you like for this recipe.
