These Small Batch Brownies are perfect when you’re craving a quick, decadent treat but don’t want to make a whole batch. With only a few ingredients and a small portion, these brownies are rich, fudgy, and so easy to prepare!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup (56g) salted butter, cut into 4 pieces
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (36g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp (18g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup (42g) chocolate chips or 3 Tbsp mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Spray an 8×4-inch bread pan with non-stick cooking spray or grease with butter. Do not use a 9×5-inch loaf pan, as the brownies will be too thin.
  • Melt Butter: Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and heat in the microwave until melted (about 30+ seconds). Let the melted butter cool slightly while you measure out the remaining ingredients.
  • Mix Ingredients: Stir in the granulated sugar with the melted butter until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Add the flour and cocoa powder, and mix just until combined. Be careful not to over-mix to avoid cakey brownies. If using chocolate chips, fold them in just as the dry ingredients are almost fully incorporated.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bread pan and spread it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 19-23 minutes, or until the brownies are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15-20 minutes before cutting into three pieces and serving.

Notes

  • Pan Size: Use an 8×4-inch bread pan to keep the brownies thick and fudgy. A 9×5-inch loaf pan will result in thinner brownies.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Texture Tip: For extra fudgy brownies, be careful not to overmix the batter or overbake the brownies.
