Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F or heat oil in a pot to 350°F for frying.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
  5. Pipe or spoon batter into a greased donut pan or shape for frying.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes or fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Cool completely.
  7. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar and lemon juice until creamy.
  8. Dip cooled donuts in glaze and top with sliced strawberries. Let set for 10 minutes.

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth glaze.
  • Let donuts cool completely before glazing.
  • Pat strawberries dry before placing on top to prevent slipping.
