- 5 large croissants
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chunks.
- Use a sharp knife to carefully slice each croissant open without cutting all the way through to create a pocket.
- Scoop a generous amount of cookie dough into each croissant pocket and press gently to fill evenly.
- Place the filled croissants on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and soft in the center.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired, and let cool for 5 minutes.
