This Crockpot Mississippi Pot Roast is an easy and delicious meal that’s packed with flavor! Made with a chuck roast, ranch seasoning, au jus mix, butter, and pepperoncini peppers, it’s a tender, melt-in-your-mouth dish that requires minimal effort. Perfect for busy days!

Ingredients

  • 1 chuck roast
  • 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet McCormick Au Jus mix
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 5 pepperoncini peppers (from a jar)

Instructions

  1. Place the chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix over the roast.
  3. Sprinkle the McCormick Au Jus mix on top of the ranch seasoning.
  4. Place a stick of butter on top of the roast.
  5. Add about 5 pepperoncini peppers on top of the butter.
  6. Do not add water.
  7. Cover and cook in the crockpot on low heat for about 8 hours.
  8. Once done, shred the roast and serve with your choice of sides.

 

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can serve the roast with mashed potatoes or over rice.
  • Adjust the number of pepperoncini peppers depending on your spice preference.
  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, you can shred the roast and let it cook in the sauce for an additional 30 minutes to thicken.
