Tortilla Wrap Pizza is a quick, easy, and customizable dish combining the crispiness of a tortilla with classic pizza flavors. Ready in under 15 minutes, it’s perfect for busy days, last-minute cravings, or a fuss-free meal that satisfies both kids and adults alike. Featuring a light, crispy base and fresh toppings, it’s a versatile option suitable for lunch, dinner, or snacks.

Ingredients

Base

  • Flour Tortillas (1 per pizza, thin preferred)
  • Olive Oil (for brushing)

Sauce

  • Tomato Sauce or Marinara Sauce (2-3 tbsp per tortilla)

Cheese

  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (1/2 to 3/4 cup per pizza)

Toppings

  • Sliced Bell Peppers (about 1/4 cup)
  • Sliced Tomatoes (about 1/4 cup)
  • Sliced Onions (about 1/4 cup)
  • Protein Options: Pepperoni slices, grilled chicken pieces, or plant-based meats (1/4 to 1/2 cup)

Herbs and Spices

  • Dried Oregano (to taste)
  • Dried Basil (to taste)
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workstation: Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure smooth cooking.
  2. Brush Tortilla with Olive Oil: Lightly brush both sides of each flour tortilla with olive oil. This step guarantees a crispy crust that won’t become soggy under the toppings.
  3. Add the Tomato Sauce: Spread a thin, even layer of tomato or marinara sauce over the tortilla surface, leaving a small border around the edges for a neat crust.
  4. Layer Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella generously over the sauce. Next, evenly arrange your chosen toppings such as sliced bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, and protein options.
  5. Season and Bake: Sprinkle dried oregano or basil, add a pinch of salt, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Place the tortilla onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8 to 12 minutes, until the cheese melts and the edges turn golden brown.
  6. Slice and Serve: Remove the tortilla wrap pizza from the oven. Allow it to cool slightly, then slice into wedges. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.

Notes

  • Use thin tortillas to achieve a crispier crust and avoid a doughy bite.
  • Do not overload the tortilla with toppings to maintain crispiness and prevent sogginess.
  • Ensure any meats or proteins are fully cooked before adding to the tortilla to save baking time.
  • For an extra bubbly and browned cheese top, broil the pizza for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Use a sharp pizza cutter or knife for clean slices without tearing the tortilla base.
