- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add melted butter and mix until smooth and fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, whole milk, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Pour half of the flour mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly to form the base layer.
- Slowly pour the milk and egg mixture over the base layer.
- Carefully spoon the remaining flour mixture evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the center is set but slightly soft.
- Cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing into 9 squares.
Notes
- Chill fully before slicing for clean edges.
- Use room temperature eggs for smoother blending.
- Do not overbake to keep the custard layer creamy.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
