Description
Onion Pasta is a savory, satisfying pasta dish featuring caramelized onions, seasoned ground beef, and a blend of spices, all tossed with tomato sauce and wrapped or served with tortillas for a fusion-style meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 3 tablespoon spicy mayo
- 1 cup fried rice
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup tortilla chips
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried oregano. Stir to combine.
- Pour in tomato sauce and let simmer for 3–5 minutes until flavors meld. Remove from heat.
- To assemble: Spread spicy mayo on each flour tortilla. Add a scoop of fried rice, the ground beef mixture, nacho cheese sauce, a dollop of sour cream, and a handful of tortilla chips.
- Roll up each tortilla to form burritos or serve open-faced as desired. Enjoy warm.
Notes
- Customize with additional toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, or jalapeños.
- For a vegetarian version, swap ground beef for plant-based crumbles or sautéed mushrooms.
- Great for meal prep—store assembled burritos in the fridge and reheat before serving.
